Heyo Bookaholics!

A Late January Wrap-Up!

Heyo Bookaholics!

Today I bring to you a very late January Wrap-Up, brought to you by my friend who I am probably letting down by writing this post and not doing the group assignment.

In the month of January I managed to read 3 books:

  • Gregory and The Grimbockle by Melanie Schubert, who was lovely enough to send me a copy. I posted a review if this book last month and I also did an interview with the author which can be found here.
  • Turtles All The Way Down by John Green was the second book of the month. I have linked my review above also.
  • Storm and Grace by Kathryn Heyman was sent to me by Allen and Unwin a while back and I had put it off because it didn’t sound like my type of read. Last month I thought I should finally give it a go and it was a wild read. I recommend you read my review (linked above) before picking up the book because it is not for everyone.

Ironheart by Jodi McAlister Book Launch!

Heyo Bookaholics!

Yesterday (9 Feb 2018), my mother and I went to the book launch ofย Ironheart by Jodi McAlister!

The event was held in Readings Kids, a kids/ young adult bookstore the opened up on Lygon Street in Carlton, Melbourne mid last year. It sits beside its older brother store Readings, which sells all the big kids books such as non-fiction and all genres other than kids and YA.

August 2017 Book Haul! 10+ Books!!

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

I only paid $10 for books this month and I could never be prouder of myself in the shopping department and for this achievement I would like to thank Bloomsbury for inviting me to the Bloomsbury Bloggers event and giftingย me with all of these amazing looking books! I would also like toย thank Andrew’s Bookshop for actually stocking and discouting a hardback graphic novel! Three things that are very very hard to come by in Australian bookstores – hardbacks, cheap books, graphic novels – were found and August ended on an amazing note.

July Book Haul!

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

Not only has July ended, but so has my uni holidays ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Unlike when I first started this blog, every month I have been acquiring more and more books; and trust me when I say that I am in no way disappointed by this. Rather I am quite thrilled that I have been able to work hard to gift myself these books, and on most occasions find bargains to save myself money for other things.

Here are 5 of the 6 books I bought this month, not in order of purchase date, but in order of size.

I readย Releaseย by Patrick Ness for the BookTubeAthon 2017 and posted a spoilerish review on Monday, which can be viewed if you click this link or on the word above.

I also have a post of mini reviews for the Harry Potter series which includes my thoughts on The Prisoner of Azkaban,ย which I published a while ago, which can be accessed via this link or the link above.

And the last book I bought, but don’t anticipate to read for a long while is;

  • The Trials Of Apollo: The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

I purchased this one from K-mart, because it is a large paperback and they dissapear after being on the shelves for a couple of months, also it matched my equally unread copy ofย The Hidden Oracle I purchased last year.

.

Stay Happy, Healthy, and have a Lovely Week!!

.

Thank You so much for reading! I hope to see you all back Monday for another review ๐Ÿ™‚
BREE XOXO

I Actually Read Books This Year!(?)

Hello Bookaholics!

I don’t know how but the first half of the year had come and gone so quickly, I havent had any time to appreciate the whirlwind that it was. I also didn’t gat time to appreciate all the good books I wanted to read and admire; but here are the special ones I did, and their reviews.

Huge June Book Haul!

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

I went book shopping!! I don’t usually dedicate a day or a particular shopping trip to exclusively shop for books, but on Monday I splurged and bought a total of 13 books. I went with three other book loving friends who for the first time didn’t spend as much as me on books.

This haul may not seem that big but I did buy all of these books in one day, and I set myself a personal budget of $100; which with everything else I bought that day did not really stick.

Singapore Haul (+ Giveaway?)

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

Two days ago I arrived home from an amazing two-week holiday in the cleanest city in the world, Singapore. In Singapore, my best friend and I went to the typical touristy attractions likeย Universal Studios, The Singapore Zoo, River Safari and Night Safari Attractions, Aquarium, Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N Exhibition, Marina Bay Sands, etc. and while all these were truly magical experiences, walking through the markets and shopping centres, just seeing what things Singapore had to offer that differed from Australia was quite fun. When you have lots of money on you and you’re walking around markets with super cheap items surrounding you, It’s kind of hard to resist.

I will once again be sharing with you the books I read and bought this month, as well as my favourite posts, and some news.

Make sure to pour the water into that cup of coffe or tea you were suppose to make half an hour ago, and get comfy because I did alot this month.
