Release by Patrick Ness | Spoilery Review

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

For the first day of the BookTubeAthon I read Release by Patrick Ness, a book that I’d been dying to pick up ever since its release earlier this year.

Release by Patrick Ness Book Cover .jpgGoodreads Summary:

Inspired by Mrs Dalloway and Judy Blume’s Forever, Release is one day in the life of Adam Thorn, 17. It’s a big day. Things go wrong. It’s intense, and all the while, weirdness approaches…

Adam Thorn is having what will turn out to be the most unsettling, difficult day of his life, with relationships fracturing, a harrowing incident at work, and a showdown between this gay teen and his preacher father that changes everything. It’s a day of confrontation, running, sex, love, heartbreak, and maybe, just maybe, hope. He won’t come out of it unchanged. And all the while, lurking at the edges of the story, something extraordinary and unsettling is on a collision course.

I bought more Books!! (September edition)

Welcome back  Bookaholics!

This post, as the title suggests is going to be all about the books I purchased this September, and in the last few days of August, because I have somehow accumulated more than usual.

This is my second post in two days! Wow, you guys are lucky. I hope you all liked the Asgardian Book Tag I created for the upcoming Magnus Chase novel, which was posted yesterday. I would love if you all took the time to do the tag – or even just have a look through it. I’d also like to apologise for the weird timing of this post as it is deviating from my usual Monday posting time of 4:00. I hope you can forgive me. Now that my little babble is over, without further ado, let’s dive into my September Book Haul!

Book Challenge May 12

I don’t really take my books out of the house much, mostly because I very rarely go out, and also because I’m a little bit scared that my books will be damaged.

These beautiful quotes are featured at the beginning of More Than This by Patrick Ness who is one of the most amazing writers I have encountered thus far and is probably second to J.K. Rowling in my Top 3 Authors.

The Quotes featured are…

“You ask  a question in the mirror. Alas, no answer could be clearer.”

– Aimee Mann

“Nothing fades as fast as the future, Nothing clings like the past.”

-Peter Gabriel

I finished this book in the month of May and immediately added all of Patrick Ness’s other books to my ever-growing TBR!

Love,

Bree xx
