Huge June Book Haul!

Hey Ho Bookaholics!

I went book shopping!! I don’t usually dedicate a day or a particular shopping trip to exclusively shop for books, but on Monday I splurged and bought a total of 13 books. I went with three other book loving friends who for the first time didn’t spend as much as me on books.

This haul may not seem that big but I did buy all of these books in one day, and I set myself a personal budget of $100; which with everything else I bought that day did not really stick.

Unboxing my Kikki.K Planner + Thoughts

Hello Friends, Family and passers by, as the title suggests, this post will be about the ‘unboxing’ of my new Kikki.K planner and what my thoughts are on it so far.

A few months ago now, my mother purchased for me the Tangerine Planner in a large size from Kikki.K . This planner was on sale at almost 50% off which was an amazing sale because the products in store are super expensive. Just so you know this particular planner and other planners in this range are NOT on sale anymore, but they still sell planners, just in different colours and styles.

I was super excited when I got home and found this on my desk. I tried to act all chill, but inside I was screaming and well staying true to my blogger nature, I took a billion photos before I even took it out of the package. Trust me it was super hard to not rip it open.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HARRY POTTER!! + Cursed Child Unbagging

Today is the day we take out our wands and don our Hogwarts robes, holding our heads and wands high for our master Harry Potter. Once a boy who conquered evil, now a man who lives inside each and every one of our hearts.

Happy Birthday, Harry Potter!

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is a story based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany and has been made into a play by Jack Thorne.

It is the eighth installment in the Harry Potter series and is the first Harry Potter story to be adapted into a stage play, shown in two parts with the intention to be seen consecutively in the two sessions (matinee and evening) or on two consecutive evenings. The play can only be seen in London’s West End, premiering July 30.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

I cannot wait to begin reading this book!!

I will be posting a review once I have finished this book, but till then, look watch my Instagram for updates and news for the blog!

Love,

Bree xx

June Book Haul

This is the first book haul on my blog so I’m quite excited to share with you the amazing books I’ve accumulated this month!

From K-mart I bought;

  • Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone ($10)
  • Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets ($10)
  • Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban ($10)
  • Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire ($10)

I already own the last three books of the Harry Potter Series and because K-mart has been selling the beautiful paperback of the Bloomsbury edition of Harry Potter for a while now, I decided to complete my collection by buying the first four books.

Finally, I can read the series since – shame on me – I have never EVER read this series in my entire life and I feel like I have (half) failed a life – considering I have watched all the movies about a million and one times, I haven’t completely failed.

From The Book Grocer I bought;

(Actually my dad bought these for me)

  • The Winner’s Crime ($6)
  • The Enchantress ($6)

I thought that The Winner’s Crime was the first book in The Winners Series, but knowing The Book Grocer Store, I shouldn’t have expected it to be, because The Book Grocer store near me doesn’t usually stock full series or first novels in series. This is why I picked up these novels.

Ever since I discovered The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series on the Book Depository last year, I’ve wanted to begin collecting them immediately, and although this is the sixth and last novel in the series, I am so glad to have found it; I literally went crazy and shoved it in front of my dad’s face! It is so flimsy and just feels like the ultimate dream book and I can’t wait to collect the first five books so I can begin diving into The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel.

Love,

Bree xx

Bargain Books and Back to School.

Hey Everyone!
School has been hectic! I have been bombarded with homework and I’ve been making constant timelines and to-do lists just to keep up during these crazy few weeks.

This isn’t really much of a back to school post, but I do have a cool story to tell; and it is about my favourite things in the whole entire world. No not food. That’s the second best. No, this post is a story about the time I spent thirteen (Australian) dollars on a box set of four paperback books.

I wasn’t intending to buy books at all. Honestly; but I just so happened to walk into QBD Bookstore and see this amazing box set of the complete Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick, so naturally (as you do) I checked the price, and low and behold; it had a sale sticker $12.99.

I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was purely magical!
